Bio
Jeremy Heffner rejoined the Baylor women’s basketball staff as the director of athletic performance in July of 2019. Heffner brings 16 years of collegiate strength and conditioning experience to the table with previous stints at Texas, Georgia, Baylor and Lee High School in Tyler, Texas.
Prior to his second arrival at Baylor, Heffner spent two years as the head strength and conditioning coach at Robert. E. Lee High School in Tyler from 2017-19, overseeing athletic development programs for 16 varsity and 16 sub-varsity sports. In his previous tenure with the Lady Bears, Heffner served as the director of athletic performance from 2010-2017, which included Baylor’s second national title run in the 2011-12 season and 14 Big 12 championships.
At Georgia from 2005-2010, Heffner worked with the baseball, swimming and diving, women’s tennis and softball programs. His tenure with the baseball team saw the Bulldogs reach the College World Series twice (2006 & 2008) and take home the SEC Championship in 2008. His career began at the University of Texas where he was a graduate assistant for the football, baseball and men’s golf programs.
Heffner is a veteran of the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky and earned an Expert Infantry Badge, Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Army Good Conduct Medal in his time as an infantryman. Heffner is a certified strength and conditioning coach (SCCC – 2005) and a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS – 2004). He has been a guest speaker at numerous engagements, sharing his expertise in the field. Heffner and his wife Karly reside in China Spring with their daughter, Chandler.
